Online On PS3

If you want to meet nice people online while gaming, you couldn't do much better than with Worms on the Play Station Network. I always have a good time playing, and I always seem to find fun people to hang out with.

Demon's Souls

I have been keeping an eye on the soon to be released Demon's Souls for the PS3. All of the magazines and blogs and podcasts are saying that this is one very hard game. A game that is prepared to make me it's bitch. I imagine that's true, but I have heard this before, and it hasn't always been the case.

Back in the day I got into those Koei strategy games, especially the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, and it was easy enough for me to get so familiar with the systems involved that I could play the game on "hard" and win effortlessly.

Another game that was listed by many as "hardcore" and "difficult" was Etrian Odyssey for the NDS. I thought that game was challenging, but it wasn't overly difficult. All one has to do is enter the dungeon, fight, exit the dungeon, heal, buy better stuff and rinse and repeat. Patience and a willingness to grind is all it took. Nothing difficult about that.

Demon's Souls, however, is an action RPG, and it is because of that I am more able to believe that this game might, in fact, be quite difficult. I look forward to finding out.

Too Old For Deathmatches

So I had some time to kill this morning before work and I dove into some multiplayer in Uncharted 2. I like the deathmatches even though I am an older gamer and I am not nearly as good as the rest of the gang it appears.

I get killed way more than I kill, but today I managed to help my team by getting two kills, and both of them were fun little milestones for me. The game has only been out for a short time, I am level 5 now in the multiplayer, but there are people who are above level 30 already! I wonder if many of these folks have jobs.

Still, the community has been fun to play with, and when I tried the multiplayer co-op I was lucky to play with some people who didn't mind that I was a total noob.


I hope Uncharted achieves the level of success it so richly deserves. It's wonderfully fun and obviously built with tremendous care.

PS3

I like the promise of the ps3. It has very good upscaling on regular DVD's and not having to pay for playing online is a big plus. I hope the PS Store continues to grow, as I feel it is a good way for me to get content right at home without having to rely on Gamestop.

Not to mention Uncharted is just the most fun I've had gaming in a good while.

Uncharted

Uncharted 2 really is a tremendous game. This one lives up to the hype. I stayed up way too late last night and had a ball. The characters are well done, the set pieces polished to the hilt and they whole package is total gaming nirvana. This is one not to miss.

Growing up with it

I was able to witness the entire evolution of the video game industry. From the first arcade Pong machine on the boardwalk of Ocean City to now, it has been a very interesting ride.
